Scott Gill
Country Lead : Northern Ireland - Lead Pharmacist
Scott is currently Lead Pharmacist for Ards Federation of GP Practices in Northern Ireland. After graduating from QUB in 2007 Scott started his career in Community Pharmacy and started working in GP practices in 2015. Scott is an Independent Prescriber and focuses on treating patients with long term conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, mental health, persistent pain), in particular those with multiple conditions. His interest in this area led to a return to QUB to complete an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice in 2019. He has a special interest in persistent pain and is involved in a multidisciplinary pain management team to help patients better manage their condition.
Scott is Chair of SELCG (South Eastern Local Commissioning Group) Prescribing & Medicines Management Committee and a Council member of the Pharmaceutical Society Northern Ireland.
Judith Grey
PCPA Regional Ambassador - Lead GP Pharmacist
Judith has worked primarily in GP practice since 2017, following more than 20 years experience as a community pharmacist. She has been an Independent Prescriber since 2018, and completed her MSc in Advanced Pharmacy Practice in 2023.
Judith teaches part of the Foundation post-graduate course, and is an assessor for the Independent Prescribing course. She is presently a Lead for the North Down Federation in Northern Ireland, and has been a member of the Pharmacy Forum since 2023. She has developed and taught courses in frailty, deprescribing, cancer and migraine.
Clare Murray
PCPA Regional Ambassador - Lecturer in the School of Pharmacy
Clare is a Lecturer (Education) in the School of Pharmacy since January 2022. She joined the School of Pharmacy academic team to assist in the teaching of independent prescribing skills and clinical pharmacy following the changes to the initial education and training of pharmacists by the GPhC.
Prior to assuming this role in QUB, Clare worked as a Lead General Practice Pharmacist. She also undertook a clinical role, working as a generalist independent prescriber with an interest in Type 2 Diabetes, hypertension and anticoagulation.
She holds post graduate qualifications in Advanced Clinical Pharmacy Practice, Type 2 Diabetes and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. She continues to practice as an independent prescriber within the GP out of hours setting, working as an Urgent Care Triage Pharmacist Prescriber.
Michael Ogilby
PCPA Regional Ambassador - Lead General Practice Pharmacist
Michael graduated from Queen's University Belfast in 1992, and after pre-registration training spent 23 years as a Community Pharmacy manager. During this time he began to work with local GP practices who supported him in gaining the Independent Prescribing qualification. He continued to work across sectors, running hypertension clinics in primary care, until 2016 when GP Federations rolled out General Practice Pharmacists across Northern Ireland. He moved full time into primary care as Lead GPP for East Belfast Federation, leading over 20 pharmacists who manage approximately 118,000 patients across 22 practices.
Michael spends half his time in practice, primarily managing hypertension and anticoagulation, while his remaining time is spent managing and developing the GPP role in East Belfast and Northern Ireland as a whole. He teaches the cardiovascular section of the Foundation Programme for GPPs and is a supervisor and assessor for both the Foundation and Independent Prescribing programmes. He has recently also begun to work in Urgent Care on a sessional basis.
