Wendy Tyler Batt

Greener PCPA Committee and Pharmacist

Wendy is a clinical pharmacist working across many GP practices in Gloucestershire. An independent prescriber since 2008, she has a broad experience including hospital & community pharmacy, frailty, mental health & intermediate care. Person-centred care with shared decision making is at the heart of everything she does. With a first degree in botany & zoology and a lifelong interest in natural history, environmental sustainability is embedded in her personal life.

This was not so in her professional life until after she met and joined Pharmacy Declares in
September 2021. She radically changed her practice to include sustainability & greener practice in conversations with patients and colleagues. Wendy is active locally as a member of ICS sustainability & Greener Practice groups. At national level she is the Greener Practice leads pharmacist representative, contributed to the High quality & low carbon asthma care toolkit & is the contact for the overprescribing plan with NHSE. She is part of Exeter University’s pharmaceutical pollution project whose commentary has recently been accepted for publication in The Lancet Planetary Health.
