The Primary Care Pharmacy Association has compiled a resource library for the benefit of its members, separated into three sections: key documents, guides and signposting and newsletters. Some have been specifically commissioned by the PCPA; others are resources that members have kindly shared. Key Documents & Newsletters

The PCPA has a number of key documents available to members only.

These include:

  • Medicines Functions & Developing Commissioning Support Services. A Guide for GPs and GP Commissioners produced in conjunction with the NHS Alliance this document to assist GPs and GP Commissioners in the move towards Medicines Optimisation. It has been developed as a framework to support discussions between emerging Commissioning Support Services (CSSs) and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and focuses on the Medicines Management functions which have traditionally been delivered by PCT Medicines Management Teams.
  • Commissioning Medicines Management: An Essential Guide for GPs a summary version of the ‘Medicines Functions and Commissioning Support Services’ document.
  • Are Pharmacies Getting Special Treats The PCPA’s good practice guide for monitoring the use of specials.

Newsletters

The PCPA Spotlight Newsletter is published quarterly and is free to PCPA members it provides members with a forum for discussion and highlights all the good work that is going on around the country.

Medicines Matters provides members with a regular round up of highlights from PCPA member GP newsletters.
