This event is FREE and open to all Pharmacy Professionals. Places are limited and priority given to PCPA members. 

For this event there is a £50 "No Show" fee, if you do not attend or cancel 48hrs prior to the event. Once your place has been confirmed, we will be contacting ALL confirmed registrants by phone to confirm attendance prior to the event.

This event will be sponsored by pharmaceutical companies through the purchase of Exhibition stands.

-       Supporting psychological awareness and emotional wellbeing

Speaker: Dr Deirdre McCabe CPsychol, Specialist Clinical Psychologist Plastic Surgery and Chronic Pain SET Ulster Hospital.

Covering:

  • How to identify and engage with patients experiencing symptoms of anxiety, trauma or depression to improve outcomes.
  • Screening tools to identify and documentation of risk.
  • The biopsychosocial model and psychosocial flags.
  • Importance of emotional wellbeing for patient care and engagement

Navigating the complexities of Chronic Pain in Primary Care. (40 mins)

13.10 - 14.00 Masterclass: Improving Cardiovascular and Renal outcomes in people with CKD and Type 2 Diabetes. Speaker: Dr Robert Mullan, Nephrologist County Antrim.

  • CKD is strongly associated with cardiovascular disease and poorer outcomes in patients with diabetes mellitus
  • Albuminuria is a very important risk factor for CKD progression and cardiovascular disease
